Songs like Ridalin or Sour Cherry only got a few plays and then were shelved. How do you decide which new songs stay and which to shelve after a few plays? Is it based on crowd reaction?
Crowd reaction is probably the biggest factor, but ultimately it is whether the band is feeling like a new composition is working well or not. We are never all in agreement, but if there is a general feeling that a composition is not working as well as others we perform we'll perform it less often or not at all. Some compositions seem to work much better in the studio and don't work as well in the live setting and vice versa.
Just wondering how do you go about writing setlists from night to night?Lotus responded on 03/15/2012 Next question
My excitement for Red Rocks is overwhelming. I have a really awesome design that I would love to submit as a poster. How could I go about doing that?Lotus responded on 04/10/2012
